『遍路日記』　・　１９４１－　The author`s first experience with henro was along the 88-temple pilgrimage on ShodoShima in 1924. He says that he came to Shikoku to do the pilgrimage because he wanted to enter the `spirit of henro.` He first came in Nov, 1937 walked to Temple 36 and returned to Tokyo. In March 1938, he came back and resumed his pilgrimage.
